• • Sunlight Requirements: Provide 6 to 8 hours of direct, full sunlight daily. Abundant sun ensures tight, matte-forming growth and vibrant blooms. 
  • Shade Tolerance: It can survive in partial shade, but lower light conditions cause the stems to stretch out, become “leggy,” and produce fewer flowers. 
  • Indoor Placement: If keeping it as a houseplant, position it within 1 foot of a bright, south-facing window. 

• The “Soak and Dry” Method: Only water when the top 2 inches of soil have completely dried out. Stick your finger or a bamboo skewer into the substrate to verify dryness. 
• Seasonal Schedules: Water thoroughly every 7 to 14 days during spring and summer depending on the heat. During winter dormancy or high-humidity monsoon seasons, scale back watering significantly to once a month.
• Rot Prevention: Ensure your container has a functional drainage hole. Damp, soggy soil is the primary cause of root rot and stem collapse.

• • Fast-Draining Soil Mix: Standard potting soils retain too much moisture. Use a dedicated cactus or succulent potting mix. For a custom blend, mix 70% cactus mix, 20% worm castings (for light nutrition), and 10% perlite or coarse sand.
  • Minimal Feeding: It thrives in poor or lean soils and requires minimal nutrients. Apply a diluted, balanced liquid succulent fertilizer only 2 to 3 times a year (at the start of spring and near the end of summer). Over-fertilizing results in weak, soft foliage and fewer flowers.
